Newton Medical Center (NMC) announced that plastic surgeon Susan Lovelle, MD, will retire on January 4, 2019. Dr. Lovelle led the hospital’s plastic surgery clinic, Lovelle Plastic Surgery.
“Dr. Lovelle has been a tremendous asset to this hospital and community during her time here,” said Alex Haines, NMC vice president of clinic operations. “It has been rewarding to watch her touch the lives of so many people, and we wish her the best in her retirement.”
Dr. Lovelle, along with her husband, retired NMC ophthalmologist Kevin Allen, MD, relocated to the Newton area in 2008 and served as the community’s first plastic surgeon. Impressed by NMC’s commitment to build a regionally-renowned health care system, Dr. Lovelle and her clinic, Lovelle Plastic Surgery, joined hospital operations in 2012.
“It has been my pleasure to serve the Newton community over the past ten years,” said Dr. Lovelle. “I was welcomed to the community with open arms and I thank everyone for the entrusting me with their care – it’s been an honor.”
