NMC Welcomes Patricia Corning as Diabetes Educator

Pattie CorningPatricia Corning, BSN, RN, CDE, has joined Newton Medical Center as outpatient diabetes clinical educator.

“I am thrilled to welcome Pattie to the Newton Medical Center family,” said Heather Porter, associate chief clinical officer. “Pattie brings enthusiasm and a wealth of experience to guide the needs of our patients with diabetes.”

A graduate of Wichita State University, Corning holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has nearly 30 years of experience as a registered nurse, 25 of which as a certified diabetes educator. Corning has previously worked as an inpatient and outpatient educator, wound care nurse and nurse navigator.

Corning will also lead the hospital’s Diabetes Support Group, which will resume in March. The support group is held at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month and is free to the public. For more information, visit www.newtonmed.com.
