Newton Medical Center welcomed baby girl Melanie as the first baby born at the hospital in the new year.
Baby Melanie, originally due on January 7, arrived at 7:35 a.m. on January 2. She weighed in at seven pounds, twelve ounces, and measured 20 inches long.
The hospital presented Melanie’s family with a gift basket filled with baby clothes, toys and newborn essentials. Newborn photos were taken by Maddie’s Images, who provided the family with a disc of all the images.
