Run NMC scheduled for October 3, 2015
NEWTON, Kan., (August 17, 2015) – Newton Medical Center (NMC) will host its second annual 5K run and one-mile fun walk, Run NMC, on October 3, 2015. All proceeds will benefit the Sandra Qamar Nursing Scholarship.
In honor of longtime NMC nurse Sandra Qamar and her passion for the profession, the scholarship was created to help nursing students achieve their degrees.
The registration fee for the timed 5K is $20 before September 20 or $30 after September 20. The registration fee for the walk is $15. Event t-shirts are guaranteed for those who pre-register by September 20. Same-day registration will begin at 8 a.m. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the walk at 9:15 a.m.
The race course will begin in the northeast parking lot on the hospital’s campus; 600 Medical Center Drive. Participants will then travel south along Kansas Avenue and wrap around the Autumn Glen housing subdivision before returning to the hospital.
This year’s title sponsor is Central Mechanical Wichita.
