NEWTON, Kan., (July 9, 2024) – NMC Health is thrilled to announce a generous $50,000 grant from the Lewis H. Humphreys Charitable Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee to support the expansion of the hospital’s emergency department, with a specific focus on enhancing emergency behavioral health services. This vital contribution will enable NMC Health to better meet the increasing demand for comprehensive mental health and addiction care, ensuring that patients in crisis receive the right care in the right place.
The expansion project will include the development of dedicated spaces for emergency behavioral health patients, additional staff training for mental health needs, and the integration of advanced technologies and custom room design to streamline patient care. By creating a more accommodating and resource-rich environment, NMC Health aims to provide a higher standard of care for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
