We are currently seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for our Medical Unit. In this role, you willwork under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and well-being of the patient and family. Additionally, the PCT provides basic healthcare and support to patients in a manner that would lead to high levels of patient satisfaction; as well as other functions of the position may include monitor technician, activities of daily living and basic nursing procedures, and functions as a member of the patient’s interdisciplinary team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required to be completed or already in progress.
• Successful completion of the PCT certification course

Knowledge, skills, & abilities:

• Participates in routine activities of patient care for the specific unit/department population.
• Performs delegated care tasks in a timely, efficient manner and under the guidance of the RN/LPN
• Contributes to continuity of care and effective communication by reporting care provided and changes in the patient’s condition to the primary nurse or designee in a timely fashion

Licensure, registration and certification:

• BLS required.
• Certification as a PCT required within 120 days (on the job training provided)
