We are currently seeking a Charge Analyst for our Patient Financial Services department.  In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and reconciling hospital charges on a daily basis.  This position works directly with charge-generating departments, acting as the bridge between clinical and financial staff, to ensure accurate charges are captured within the Meditech platform.  In this role it is important that you maintain a good working relationship with department leaders, nursing staff, case managers, billers, coders, and other revenue cycle colleagues.

The right candidate for this position must be highly organized and have strong investigative and problem-solving skills.  Applies common sense and logic in the performance of job duties, and be proficient at managing varying duties and multiple tasks.  10-key is a requirement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience:

  • College or vocational training preferred
  • Meditech experience preferred
  • Customer service required
  • Healthcare business office experience required, preferably billing
  • Charge capture, audits, and/or denial experience preferred, but willing to train the right person
  • Spanish speaking preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent customer service while interacting with other NMC Health departments; as well as patients, families, physicians and other healthcare providers
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Mathematic skills required
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Ability to apply common sense and logic in the performance of their job duties
  • CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge required
  • Proficient with computers, learning new software, 10-key adding machine
  • Manage varying duties and multiple tasks
  • Experience with MS Office applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Meditech knowledge preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment
