8:00 | Session 1 – Trauma Informed Care: Building HOPEful Workplaces

Keynote Speaker: Vanessa Lohf

People who work in healthcare offer unique contributions to the health of those in their care that are vast and multi-dimensional – yet often under-appreciated. Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) is a framework that can strengthen workplace cultures by creating access to four building blocks that are essential for individual and team wellbeing – relationships, environments, engagement, and emotional growth. In this interactive session, participants will learn about the growing body of research showing how positive experiences drive healthy development and mitigate the impacts of adversity as well as how to use the HOPE Framework to strengthen individual resilience and create more HOPEful workplaces.

Learning Objectives

  • Define individual trauma and trauma-informed approaches to healthcare.
  • Describe the physical and behavioral health impacts of positive and adverse childhood experiences.
  • Discuss the four Building Blocks of the Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) framework.
  • Identify daily application strategies for strengthening individual and team resilience using the HOPE Building Blocks.
10:45 | Break and Raffle Drawings
11:00 | Session 2 – Self-Care Practices

Speaker: Dayna Steinmetz

This yoga self-care session focuses on mindful movement and breathwork to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and foster self-awareness. We will incorporate gentle yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices for a holistic approach to well-being. These coping skills are crucial to front-line workers in the healthcare field. We will learn healthy ways to process stress and build resilience.
