Why are you excited to join NMC Health?
NMC Health is passionately committed to improving the health of our community. I am excited for the opportunity to help support that mission.
Why did you choose to have a career in healthcare?
Although this is my third career, and the first in healthcare, I wanted to be on the front lines of supporting an organization that does so much for our community.
What is your specialty and why did you choose it?
My work at NMC Health is in development, outreach, and grant writing. This allows me to identify needs at the hospital or in the community, and find ways to meet those needs through my work.
What inspires you to do what you do every day?
I get the opportunity to work with almost every department in our organization, as well as many people and businesses outside of our organization. As a result, I learn new things every day and am constantly inspired to put that knowledge to work.
What is your favorite thing about working with patients?
Although I don’t often get the opportunity to work one-on-one with patients, I love to be able to interact with them at the hospital and in the community. It is a special thing to be part of a place that exists to help others.
What is your top priority when providing healthcare?
My top priority is to support our mission of understanding and responding to the individual needs of those we serve.
What are your favorite things to do outside of the office?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and when possible, traveling to places I haven’t been before.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering a career in healthcare, what would it be?
It is a rewarding and meaningful career.
What’s the best advice you received?
Just because it hasn’t been done before, doesn’t mean it can’t be done. Educate yourself, take the risk and persist.
