Some might say that Dr. Marc Duverseau had medicine in his blood; he grew up with both of his parents being doctors, and that shaped his desire to follow in their footsteps.
“I was always drawn by the mystique of what they do and what it meant to positively impact someone’s life,” he said. “Once I found myself in the operating room, however, it just felt like home. I knew it was for me from day one. Meeting a patient, being able to swiftly enact change that improves their quality of life, and watch them walk out of your office happy is what I live for.”
He comes to us after finishing his General Surgery residency at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC. There, he served as the Administrative Chief Resident and was responsible for advocating on behalf of his colleagues. He also spent time as an Intern at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
As one of the general surgeons at NMC Health Surgical Specialists, Dr. Duverseau is excited to be part of an award-winning team.
“I’m looking forward to making a name for myself,” he said, “To becoming the guy people go to with tough cases and help them figure it out. I want to be part of a medical community that challenges me to be at my best.”
In his spare time, you’ll find Dr. Duverseau travelling with his wife, learning new cultures and visiting people. He also likes to cook and entertain friends and family. In fact, he picked up baking during the pandemic!
