NMC Health is pleased to announce another addition to its growing partnership with Access TeleCare. Following the successful launch of tele-nephrology last summer, inpatients at NMC Health Medical Center will also have access to pulmonary and critical care specialists via telemedicine, starting January 22, 2025.

Access TeleCare’s board-certified pulmonary and critical care specialists will be available 24/7 to support on-site care of patients requiring an ICU level of care, such as the need for mechanical ventilation, congestive heart failure, serious infections, and other life-threatening conditions.

The expanding partnership with Access TeleCare is a testament to NMC Health’s dedication to meet the evolving needs of its patients. By offering tele-pulmonary and critical care consultations, NMC Health ensures that patients receive timely and effective treatment to improve outcomes.

“Access TeleCare prides itself on working with forward-thinking hospitals to enhance the delivery of clinical excellence locally,” Chris Gallagher, M.D., CEO, Access TeleCare. “NMC Health is exemplary in its commitment to patient care, and we are thrilled to be their partner. The addition of tele-pulmonary and critical care to the service lines will only enhance the level of care and commitment patients can expect to get from their local hospital.”

Heather Porter, Chief Nursing Officer at NMC Health, expressed her enthusiasm, “We are thrilled to once again partner with Access TeleCare to bring board-certified pulmonary care directly to our patients. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to deliver high-quality, comprehensive medical care that helps our community access the best of healthcare close to home.”

How Tele-Pulmonary and Critical Care Works

Through the telemedicine partnership, health care providers at NMC Health can connect with an Access TeleCare board-certified pulmonary and critical care specialist via secure, high-resolution technology in minutes. On-site respiratory therapists, nurses, and other physicians have access to the highest level of consultation to diagnose and treat the most seriously ill patients and not have to transfer them to other hospitals.
