We are currently seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for our Immediate Care Clinic here in Newton. In this role, you will provide comprehensive and professional health care to clients in the immediate care setting. Practice is distinguished by autonomy of practice and is characterized by both an increased complexity of clinical decision-making ability and greater skill in managing organizations and environments. Activities are carried out in accordance with the Scope and Standards of Advanced Practice Registered Nursing of the Kansas State Board of Nursing’s Practice Act. The nurse in this position demonstrates a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of the complex responses of individuals, families, or communities to actual or potential health problems, prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.

This position is part-time day position with alternating weekends.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience:

  • Master’s Degree graduate of an accredited school of nursing advanced practice program
  • Demonstrated experience in cooperative and collaborative professional relationships
  • 5 years clinical nursing experience required

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practice and its application in the promotion of health outcomes.
  • Knowledge of current nursing research design, implementation, and evaluation as appropriate to specialty area
  • Knowledge of advanced professional nursing theory, scope of practice standard nursing protocol and the legal implications of nursing practice, including statues and regulations relevant to advanced practice nursing.
  • Advanced knowledge of pharmacology, especially as appropriate to specialty area.
  • High level of skill in utilizing appropriate oral and written communication with clients, physicians, nurses, staff and community members.
  • Expert skill in diagnosis and treatment of individuals, families or communities, including but not limited to interviewing and counseling clients and delegating/assigning duties to others.
  • Proficient skill in the application of techniques, procedures and instruments according to recognized policies.
  • Demonstrated evidence of considerable ability to formulate clinical decisions to manage acute and chronic illness and promote wellness; while excursing independent judgement.

Licensure, registration or certification:

  • Current APRN license in good standing from the Kansas State Board of Nursing
