Athletic Trainer

We are currently seeking an Athletic Trainer for our Orthopedic & Sports Specialists Clinic. In this role, you will perform general athletic training services and fulfill external Athletic Trainer contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in athletic training
- Valid Athletic Trainer License that is in good standing with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts required
- BOC Certification required
Knowledge and Skills:
- Evaluate athlete’s readiness to play and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted.
- Care for athletic injuries, using approved physical therapy equipment or techniques.
- Conduct an initial assessment of an athlete’s injury or illness to provide emergency or continued care and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis.
- Assess the progress of recovering athletes to coaches or physicians.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as keeping records or writing reports.
- Responsible for following all HIPPA regulations and guidelines.
- Responsible for following all OSHA guidelines when handling blood or body fluids.
- Documentation of referral into the Orthopedics Clinic
- Initiate relationships and contracts as appropriate with local high schools and colleges
Licensure, registration and certification:
- Certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification
- Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts
