With the arrival of Dr. Faris Azzouni, MD, MBBS, comes the launch of NMC Health’s Urology Specialists clinic in Newton.
You’d never know it by this interview, but Dr. Azzouni is an avid tennis fan. Before becoming a physician, he was a Davis Cup player and captain for Jordan from 1990 to 1999. He was also the national tennis champion of Jordan, a title he held from 1993 to 1999! And on top of everything else, he is a former tennis commentator for the Jordanian national TV station.
We know he had a ball playing tennis… He will also enjoy the opportunity getting to serve you!
Why are you excited to join NMC Health?

Why did you choose to have a career in healthcare?
“I always wanted to help people and make a difference in their lives! There is no better means than healthcare to satisfy this desire.”
What is your specialty, and why did you choose it?
“I specialize in Urology. It’s a fun specialty that includes plenty of medicine and plenty of surgery. It is in high demand and will always remain so.”
What inspires you to do what you do every day?
“I am inspired by my father, who still works six days a week because he is so passionate about what he does.”
What is your favorite thing about working with patients?
“I enjoy helping my patients get better.”
What is your top priority when providing healthcare?
“I always strive to make a positive impact on people’s lives.”
What are your favorite things to do outside of the office?
“I enjoy spending time with my family.”

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering a career in healthcare, what would it be?
“Always follow your passion.”
